Flight Training Toward a Degree in Aviation

Aerosim Flight Academy offers a number of  flight training options to meet the needs of our U.S. and international students. The cost and time it takes to complete each program or degree varies.

Become a Pilot at Aerosim Flight Academy

Aerosim Flight Academy offers two accredited diploma programs: the Professional Pilot Program and Jet Direct.

Professional Pilot Program: Our Professional Pilot Program prepares U.S. and international students to be initially employed as a flight instructor before moving into a productive career as an airline pilot. This program can be completed in as little as 12 months.

Earn a College Degree in Aviation

For those wishing to pursue a college degree, in 2012 the Academy will offer a 2-year Associate of Science (A.S.) Degree with emphasis options in two disciplines: Pilot Operations and Flight Instruction.

  • A.S. Degree — Pilot Operations: This program prepares students for a versatile career as a commercial pilot. The curriculum is designed to be completed in 24 months, with an A.S. Degree awarded upon completion.
  • A.S. Degree — Flight Instruction: Our A.S. Degree with an emphasis in Flight Instruction is designed to prepare students for a career as a flight instructor leading up to a career in the regional airlines. The curriculum is designed to be completed in 24 months, with an A.S. Degree awarded upon completion

Both degree programs are only offered at our Orlando/Sanford location in Florida.

Our University Partners

Students also have the option to earn a 2-year Associate’s or 4-year Bachelor’s Degree in aviation through one of our university partners:

  • Jacksonville University in Jacksonville, FL, is a private institution offering a 4-year Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation Management and Flight Operations.
  • Broward College in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, is a state-sponsored institution offering a 2-year Associate’s Degree in Professional Pilot Technology.
  • San Jacinto College in Houston, TX is a state-sponsored institution offering a 2-year Associates Degree in Applied Science, or a Certificate of Technology.

Students enrolled at these institutions will complete their flight training at Aerosim Flight Academy and will have the opportunity to get their Private, Instrument, Commercial Single-Engine and Multi-Engine ratings, as well as their Certificated Flight Instructor ratings within the degree programs. Upon completion of these ratings, they will have the opportunity to apply for a Flight Instructor position at Aerosim Flight Academy.

Transferring Credits for Flight Training

  • University of Phoenix: Aerosim Flight Academy has partnered with the University of Phoenix to allow students to transfer their coursework to degree programs at the University of Phoenix. The transferability of credits earned at Aerosim is at the discretion of the University of Phoenix, and student should confirm whether credits will be accepted by the University of Phoenix before transferring.
