Aerosim Announces Contract with Sun Country Airlines
Burnsville, Minnesota – November 21, 2012 – Aerosim, a global aviation training company, today announced that Sun Country Airlines has signed a three-year contract for B737NG Computer Based Training (CBT; Courseware) single-user licenses to be distributed to company pilots during initial training. The CBT shall be distributed via web Learning Management System (LMS) and through iPad®. Content for the iPad shall run native through Aerosim’s LMS Client App for offline viewing. Aerosim’s LMS will provide additional administrative tools for both tracking and recording student progress and completion status.
“We are very excited to be a part of Sun Country’s recent growth and flexible training needs as they begin to increase initial training classes,” said Erik Tobler, Commercial Director, Americas & Caribbean at Aerosim. “Sun Country will benefit from the use of Aerosim’s high-fidelity and interactive courseware, both web-based and deployed via iPad.”
The Aerosim courseware includes dedicated aircraft systems lessons and general subjects. Aerosim’s software compliance with SCORM and AICC standards allow Sun Country to shift content more easily into their existing LMS in the future.
“Aerosim has been selected, not only for their existing relationship with Sun Country, but because of their flexible deployment methods,” said Sun Country’s Mark Vogelgesang, Director, Pilot Training. “We were looking for training material designed for an experienced student deployed on a mobile platform. Knowing the courseware has been built by former airline pilots and other experienced aviation professionals, gives us confidence that our initial training classes will be better prepared for the next step in training.”
