A320 Ground Instructor
Position Purpose
Ground Instructors are responsible for conducting designated ground training lessons and testing.
Primary Duties
Primary duties include:
- Conducting a designated ground training lesson with reference to the lesson plan.
- Proctoring tests, conducting lectures, conducting sessions in a training device, and conducting emergency exit/equipment training.
- Documenting training using specific written and/or on-line forms.
- Conducting an assessment of student progress when required to do so.
- Bringing lesson plan errors and omissions to the attention of the Chief Instructor.
Knowledge, Skills, and Other Characteristics
Knowledge, Skills, and Other Characteristics include (but are not limited to):
- Proven ability to effectively teach complex concepts and procedures using demonstration and/or directing specific activity.
- Proven verbal and written communication skills.
- In-depth understanding of the respective aircraft and flight procedures.
- Proficient time management skills.
- Skilled ability to observe, assesses, and constructively critique technical, procedural, and CRM skills.
Qualifications
The minimum (and preferred) qualifications include:
- FAA Commercial pilot certificate (ATP preferred).
- Instrument Airplane Multiengine Land Rating (type rating in the respective aircraft preferred).
- 250 hours total flight time (500 hours preferred).
- High altitude endorsement preferred.
- 50 hours flight experience as a crewmember in a multi-crew turbojet aircraft preferred.
- One year experience instructing in a crew environment (preferably on respective aircraft).
- At least 18 years of age (FAA requirement – may not be waived).
- Able to read, write, and fluently speak the English language (FAA requirement – may not be waived).
