PC-Primus Epic™

PC-Based Flight Management System Software

PC-Primus Epic takes full advantage of combining Honeywell’s actual Primus Epic ® Flight Management System (FMS) and display software with a training interface provided by Aerosim Technologies. This highly sophisticated PC-based familiarization tool allows the pilot to practice FMS and display management procedures for ground-based and airborne operations.

Pilots looking to gain experience in operating the Honeywell Primus Epic® integrated avionics system FMS and display system will benefit from this tool. The Aerosim training tool also provides valuable experience in the interaction between the FMS and display system by showing the entered flight plan and relevant navigational information through menu operation.

The PC-Primus Epic familiarization tool provides a detailed presentation of the FMS and display windows.  High-resolution graphics are combined with actual aircraft code to create a training environment that looks just like the aircraft.

PC-Primus Epic includes the following avionics functionality:

  • Honeywell Primus Epic® displays
  • Cursor Control Device emulation
  • Multi-function keyboard or MCDU
  • Generic Attitude Director Indicator display
  • Generic autopilot

Flight plans can be entered on the FMS and shown on the display, then flown in a real-time environment. Interactions between the FMS and displays are depicted as they are in the aircraft. Flight plans created using the PC-Primus Epic training tool can be downloaded to a disc.  An interactive “Help” and flight reference feature provides information on how to operate the Aerosim FMS training tool.

Included in the tool is a real world Jeppesen navigation database for the North American region. This allows for the entry of actual Departure Procedures (DP)/Standard Terminal Arrival Route (STAR) and approaches. Please note that this database is not current and should be used for training purposes only. The database can be updated using your database from your aircraft navigation database subscription.  Also included is a North American terrain database that provides representative terrain display.
