Air Transport Courseware (CBT)
Product Overview
Aerosim’s air transport courseware is positioned to address 100% of ground training objectives. It is unique in its ability to combine simulations with structured courseware learning. Free-play capabilities, self-paced instruction, demonstrations, continual evaluation, practice scenarios, remediation and testing are brought together in this comprehensive training tool. The technique, known as Simulation Based Courseware, brings students closer to the real experience than traditional page turning CBT.
Within Aerosim’s FlightLine™ concept maintenance and updates to the courseware are included. This encompasses aircraft system updates as well as annual recurrent training modules that require updates year after year. The final product is deliverable via computer lab applications and distance learning (web, CD, USB drive, or preloaded laptop computer). Return on investment can be seen in many ways including a reduction in training footprint, pilot coverage, daily training costs, training personnel, remedial training, capital expenditures, simulator maintenance costs and bottleneck costs.
Modules for each subject area include training on features, operation and integration. Because the courseware is simulation-based, systems integration training is truly effective as it allows the student to interact in real-time with the aircraft systems in a free-play environment. This also allows procedures training to be incorporated. All subject areas are rolled into a single simulation-based courseware product that addresses the needs of several training categories through an LMS which can be provided by Aerosim.
As students work their way through assigned modules, integrated tests ensure successful completion of the course while the LMS tracks each individual’s progress and performance. When all required modules have been completed, the student will be well prepared in knowledge, skill and performance capability for subsequent phase of training.
To further enhance the overall courseware experience, Aerosim has incorporated some unique segments derived from the traditional “live” training environment. These include a “Did You Know” section which pulls in interesting bits of information that might be picked up from experienced instructors not as part of the standard curriculum, but through natural conversation. A “FAQ” section incorporates questions that might come up in the course of training – mimicking the benefit of hearing other people ask questions in a classroom setting. An “In Depth” section allows students to get further detail on a given subject that goes beyond the required training elements.
Aerosim courseware can be customized to each customer’s aircraft configuration, procedures and standards. A team of airline training experts will review the customer’s training footprint and recommend a program that will save both time and money. Supplying Aerosim with course objectives or storyboards enables the team to design ground training to meet the airlines specific requirements.
