The Standard Virtual Procedure Trainer (VPT) is a reconfigurable crew training device designed to optimize training time and improve the learning process for pilots and maintenance personnel. Theory, practice, technical details, operational issues and human factors are brought together in a realistic environment.

Training with the Virtual Procedure Trainer is most effective when used for familiarization, systems, and procedures training prior to entering the full flight simulator. Training organizations can schedule numerous hours in a VPT for the cost of just one hour in a full flight simulator. Most instructors prefer the VPT learning environment as opposed to a simulator when it comes to teaching crew concepts, FMC skills, normal fight procedures, and system abnormalities.

The ability to initiate the VPT to a pre-defined snapshot within seconds eliminates wasteful set-up or repositioning time. A user friendly Instructor Operating System (IOS) allows the instructor to focus on his most important task – observing the student’s performance.

The Aerosim Standard VPT provides users with a graphical representation (via touch panel displays) of the cockpit including simulation of aircraft systems. The trainer can be used as a ground and flight procedure trainer under normal and abnormal conditions. Aural and visual warnings and cautions will be duplicated.

The PC-based training device provides simulation and display of most aircraft systems including displays, panels and indications. All systems are fully interactive and operate in free-play. The trainer is an open cockpit design utilizing LCD touch panel displays depicting a graphical representation of the flight deck including the overhead panel, dual sided EFIS displays (PFD & ND/MFD), upper and lower displays and the pedestal for FMS, thrust levers, flap lever, speed brake (spoiler) lever and other components. An additional touch panel display is provided for the instructor station. Two (2) additional LCD touch panel displays are provided for the display of Active System Schematics.
